This abum came out just as I had graduated from college, fond memories--but the way the Donny Hathaway Song "Someday We'll All Be Free' was arranged and sung --seems as fresh today as it did back then. Add the election of President Obama-and Donny's song was not just hopeful but profetic

This might be one of his more popular efforts, but by genre more than content. It has some 3rd person tunes and even shows some stylings of his other ELEKTRA efforts, but I find the less than ethinic portugese Brazilian influences to be somewhat MOR! Consider this probably more tune by tune rather than a consumate plate of some great Mendes arrangements! But try his Home Cooking or Confetti efforts before you decide!

This is, without a doubt, the best album Sergio Mendez ever put together. The album is a blend of American Jazz and Latin rythem, resulting in a "smooth jazz" tempo which flows so mellow, yet jumps at every opportunity. I had this on cassette tape many years ago (by the way... original release date was Feb-1975!) and the tape wore out. Never found this on CD, so very excited to find this album on iTunes. This is defineatley SM at its best. Thanks Apple for making this available to this listener.
  • Great Body Of Work

I must say that I grew up listening to Sergio Mendes. I actually have all his albums and I must say that his music is infectious. This album is one of my many favorites. If you like good music with a twist of jazz/soul/brazil then this is the cd to get. Put it on at any adult setting and let it play. I promise this cd will make for a great conversation piece. Enjoy!
  • Great classic

Zargon was crazy to give this two stars. I love his latin work, this just shows another side of his genius. I love how he remade the songs, his ending to "Here comes the sun" is crazy, and really takes a classic song to another level (samplers get ready).
  • Memories...

Whether good or bad, this was an album my mother bought when I was young and I used to play it over and over. I've actually been trying to find this album for years and had really given up. After having this version of "I Believe" in my head for the past two days straight I gave it another try and, bingo! I love you iTunes!!!!!!!
